Aiki-jūjutsu is a form of jujutsu that emphasizes "an early neutralization of an attack."[7] Like other forms of jujutsu, it emphasizes throwing techniques and joint manipulations to effectively control, subdue, or injure an attacker. Of particular importance is the timing of a defensive technique to either blend or neutralize an incoming attack's effectiveness and use the force of the attacker's movement against them. Daitō-ryū is characterized by ample use of atemi, or the striking of vital areas, in order to set up jointlocking or throwing tactics.

Split Second Survival 4 DVD Set

"Split Second Survival 4 DVD Set"
English | MPEG-4 720x480 29fps | AAC 132Kbps | 6 hr 30 min | 3.2 GB

Split Second Survival series is a program for anyone seeking an effective way to become a survivor in the most vicious street assaults, whether you have no self defense skills, or are in a highly trained self defense program. SSS will open your eyes to the reality of the street.

First Strike DVD

First Strike is a unique street survival concept that is devastatingly effective. It is unique in that it strips away everything that is superfluous, which leaves a program that is based on speed, simplicity and decisive results.
As with First Cut and First Shot, the First Strike DVD is tempered around one core principle, EVERYTHING MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED IN ONE SECOND OR LESS! It is the vicious application of this principle that leads the development of all techniques used in the SSS series. Many techniques that were otherwise viable were rejected out-of-hand because they did not meet the one-second rule.
First Strike has no martial arts in the program, not because these techniques can't be effective but because they cannot be worked in the SSS one-second mantra. First Strike employs no kicks, joint locks, pressure points, or punching.
First Strike will not allow you to focus on one attacker, but makes you aware of multiple attackers and weapons. As in all the SSS series First Strike gives you the mindset and corresponding techniques that let you use your attacker as a shield, and their weapons against each other.
To a person trained in the martial arts it may be uncomfortable to rely on something new, but before long First Strike will be a primary tool for actual street survival. For the person with no training or survival skills, welcome to a world where you no longer have to be a victim and where survival is in your hands, the world of Split Second Survival.

First Cut DVD

FIRST CUT is two hours of the most effective knife survival techniques dealing with moving and stable blades that you will ever experience!
The reason SSS is so effective when it comes to defense against the blade is the concept of NEVER focusing on the knife, coupled with the thought of the victim always becoming an attacker. There are two types of assaults when dealing with the blade. First there is a stable blade attack, such as having a knife against the throat, or in the back, in such a way that an attacker has control over his victim. This is a situation that will most likely happen during a violent assault that involves robbery, rape, or abduction. It is the type of assault you will most likely have to contend with!
The second is a moving knife, where an assailant is trying to stab, slash, and cut a victim in any way possible. This is less likely to happen in the street, for people do not usually walk around stabbing or slashing people.

First Cut will dispel many of the knife survival techniques that are commonly taught today, showing how focusing on the weapon, and committing both hands can prove to be a deadly mistake...
Split Second Survival will absolutely change the way you think about knife survival. It will introduce you to concepts you have not seen before since the focus is never on the knife as it is in most self defense systems that try to use disarming techniques such as joint manipulations, pressure points, locks or throws. They do not realize that it is almost impossible for these methods to be effective against powerful multiple attackers. The systems that attempt this type of strike with the mindset that you can block or catch a blade while attempting sweeps, punches and throws, have not given consideration to the realism of the street. It is as simple as that. I do not mean to sound disrespectful to any martial art or system that is out there, just watch this knife series as this series dispel the myths that are on the streets.
I am honored and excited to bring the Split Second Survival knife series FIRST CUT to the public. The concepts and techniques will change the way knife defense will be taught now and in the future.

First Shot DVD

FIRST SHOT is the most intensive, realistic and effective program that you will ever experience.
As in the other series, there are no joint locks, take downs, punches, or throws, and it intends to dispel the myths and misconceptions so many instructors teach. The reason they are not taught is the same reason as hand-to-hand and knife, these techniques are not effective. Joint locks, take downs, punches and throws require intensive training and have only a slight possibility of working successfully in a realistic situation.
When dealing with firearms your life is on the line. ONE MISTAKE AND YOU ARE DEAD!
First Shot teaches defense against pistols and rifles, single and double handgrips, and multiple weapons. I am absolutely certain that the quality, the realism, and the effectiveness of this program will change the way you think about firearm self-defense.

Live Fire DVD

“I have trained with the F.B.I., State Troopers, city police, airport security, undercover agents, the military, and many other different groups and agencies; yet none have considered or understood the reality of a weapon discharging in a disarm attempt.
I do not know if the public is ready for a DVD like this…” Larry Wick
The Staff at SSS had to make the decision whether or not to release the newest addition to the SSS series, First Shot Live Fire. It was not a decision that everyone agreed with. This DVD took over 5 months to shoot. We shot over four hours of film, we have used over thirty minutes to show some of the basic reality of what happens to the body when you attempt many of the self-defense techniques that are taught by most agencies.
First Shot Live Fire is NOT a teaching DVD in regards to gun disarms, it is a video dispelling the effectiveness of techniques that instructors teach as being viable.

This DVD will offend many in the gun world because the thought of pointing a loaded weapon at a man’s head COMPLETELY blows the rules of gun safety away. We know and understand this violation, as I am the one that took the risks with the professionals in our staff. (For those that purchase this DVD I do not want to hear or read about the lack of concern for gun safety on some forum. If you think you may be offended, don’t buy the DVD.)
This DVD was made for one reason, for your safety and survival when it comes to gun disarms. I am not here to tell you what techniques are the best or correct, we will let the DVD speak for itself.
However, I can personally state that most of what I see and have experienced in the techniques that are taught will likely get you hurt, or even worse, killed. Most instructors do not account for or grasp the damage that occurs from the concussion caused by the sound, burns and flash from the powder and muzzle blast, damage from the cartridge ejection, or sharpness of the slide and sight mechanisms. These factors cause your techniques to be ineffective when they are not part of your training.

Remember, this DVD was made for your SAFETY, so study it, and relate it to the training you are doing now. Then, ask yourself and your instructor, what happens to me if this weapon goes off? Can I survive the ramifications of this weapon going off as seen on the SSS Live Fire DVD? That’s all I ask.
I have been honored that as the years pass, I see more and more reality based instructors beginning to use the SSS concepts.

Secrets Of Harimau : The Explosive Art Of Pencak Silat Harimau Minangkabau

"Secrets Of Harimau : The Explosive Art Of Pencak Silat Harimau Minangkabau"
English | DivX 704 x 576 25fps | MP3 160Kbps 48KHz stereo | 57 min | 478 Mb

Donn Draeger, in his world-renowned Asian Fighting Arts, wrote, "Perhaps there is no pencak-silat as curious as the harimau style performed in Sumatra." Named for the tiger that its movements so aptly portray, harimau has previously been taught to only a handful of adepts who have used this lithe, sinuous style with deadly effectiveness against armed and unarmed opponents alike. Now the secrets of harimau's low-line kicking, devastating takedowns and savagely effective groundfighting can be yours. In this video, Guru Richard Crabbe de Bordes, certified instructor under Indonesia's General Hanafi, teaches you the basic postures (kudas)footwork patterns (gkhas harimau. He then shows you how to combine these elements into a fighting art designed to take your opponent to the ground and keep him there. Guru de Bordes also teaches rarely seen defense tactics against multiple attackers and demonstrates the practical effectiveness of harimau in a real-life kidnapping scenario. Don't miss this rare opportunity to learn the secrets of one of the most dramatic and unusual martial arts ever developed.

The Harimau tiger style from Sumatra is one of the most interesting and exotic styles of Silat and is associated with the Menangebau tribe. Its movements derive from the tiger and the fighters often work low or from the ground. As a result the style requires very strong and flexible legs. This video will give you a good idea of some aspects of the style. Most of the tape is devoted to a number of the self-defense combinations derived from the cudas, or basic postures, which are demonstrated by several students, including an older guy who moves very well for his age. Then guru de Bordes demos the lankhas or footwork patterns and shows applications of those. Also interesting is guru de Bordes's demo of some short sword against the knife and multiple attacker scenarios.

There are probably several dozen of the cuda applications shown so you can get a pretty good idea of the techniques and their approach, and you'll notice how often they go to the ground, kick and grapple on the ground, etc., compared with the other more well-known styles of silat such as serah or serak, tjimande, pukulan, bukti-negara, cikalong, perisai-diri, and so on. De Bordes has worked as a bodyguard in Africa and for the president of Ghana, and has a reputation for knowing how to apply his silat in practical situations. I've read that he's currently back in England and so he may be teaching there.

Fast Defense- Adrenaline Scenario Training with Bill Kipp

"Fast Defense- Adrenaline Scenario Training with Bill Kipp"
English | Xvid 712x480 29.97fps | MP3 48000Hz stereo 160kbps| 52 min | 630 Mb

Self-defense has become a hot topic in our world as stress levels rise and violence increases. Hence, in our land of opportunity various groups have capitalized on this trend to espouse their particular form of scenario-based training. It’s been my experience that few of these groups truly understand how adrenal stress scenario based training is meant to work.

Scenario based training is not a new concept by any means. Warrior cultures have embraced these concepts for millennia to prepare their soldiers for combat. Today, application of this technology is not just limited to combat. Scenario based training is used to train athletes. It’s used to train members of debate teams. In fact the concept is used in so many vocations, that its use in self-defense has become somewhat confused. Add to this the current situation of liability issues when training students, and true adrenal stress scenario based training has become diluted even more.

To get a grasp of how to use scenario based training effectively, we must first look at the difference between Symmetric and Asymmetric training and how the use of adrenal stress response training applies to each:

Symmetric Training: Stated quite simply, this is an event where 2 or more participants engage in a pre-ascribed athletic contest with rules and regulations to keep the event safe and orderly as they compete towards whatever victory or goal they have agreed to. A good example of this is sparring in a martial arts class. Although it may well be a good adrenalizing experience for the participants, it is still being done in a symmetrical fashion. Both sides know the rules and agree to abide to them. Both sides know this is not a life or death struggle, and both sides come into the event psychologically prepared.

Martial Arts sparring can become quite spirited and intense. Perhaps the most extreme case of this is the Ultimate Fighting Challenge or the various other no holes barred full contact events that exist. There can be no doubt that the participants are extremely adrenalized and that the stakes may include possible bodily injury. But still, the combatants show up for the event well trained (or at least should be) and psychologically prepared to engage the competition. Boxing matches fall into the same category, as does wrestling, Judo, and the myriad of other sport combat events.

Training for such an event typically consists of symmetrical exercises to practice various skills, building upon each other in complexity and stress levels. Eventually the combatant achieves a good skill level and confidence in their ability to apply these skills and techniques against a determined opponent. Although the training may be arduous, it typically does not meet the level of nervousness and anxiety that is experienced in the actual event. Through repetition one obtains the experience of dealing with this nervousness and eventually becomes accustomed to it. Often it is the ability to deal with this nervous fear that dictates the winner versus the loser. Two opponents of equal skill will not be equal if one is better able to work with the adrenaline than the other. I have heard world class fighters say that a ring fight typically comes down to 80% skill and 20% spirit.

Symmetric training focuses more on technique and not as much on spirit.

Asymmetric training: Although similar in some ways to symmetric training, there are some important distinctions between the two. The similarities are that there are usually pre-determined rules as well as specific techniques that should be applied to address the particular parameters of each scenario. Safety is still an important issue (or should be).

The primary distinction is that the actual technique is secondary to the more important factor (for real life situations) of training the student to apply that technique under duress. When done correctly the technique is taught first in a slow motion no stress environment where the body motion and mechanics are stressed. Each time the technique is practiced the stress level is increased in bite sized chunks. The instructor team works with the student in a deliberate manner to push the student as hard as possible while still ensuring a positive outcome at each step of the way. Rather than focusing on the fine points of technique (which typically go right out the window in real encounters anyway) the focus is on teaching the student to deal with the level of intimidation in each scenario and respond in a congruent and effective manner.

Adrenal Stress response training is predicated on 100% success for every student through every scenario. If one student is particularly stronger or weaker than another, the woofer simply modifies his “woof” accordingly and the coach takes a more active role. If the instructor team feels that the student would benefit from doing it again, they bring that student right back out and repeat. The scenarios are specifically designed to increase in bite size chunks so that the students never get bored nor conversely are they overwhelmed.

Lifelong martial artist Joseph Simonet distills decades of research in the fighting arts into a combative form that has hard-core street application in every movement, transition and technique. Building on the functional, universal lines developed in his Mook Jong Slam Set program, Simonet's Argument of Movement takes individual training to the next, necessary step: a two-person, full-contact drill that is easy to learn, combines the best elements of the most effective combat arts currently known and has application for any fighting situation you may find yourself facing. He teaches you how to control the fight from the first instant, disrupting your opponent's rhythm and keeping him so off-balance that he'll have no time to react. Simonet also provides vital instruction on the supported elbow frame, an all-purpose defense that allows you to take even the strongest of blows without injury. For information purposes only.
